Frames works on your device and needs no account. Your screenshots stay with you: nothing is sent to the developer, and iCloud sync keeps your projects in your own iCloud account, which only you can reach.
Information We Collect
Frames does not collect, sell, or share personal information. There is no sign-up, and the developer operates no servers that receive your data.
iCloud sync is no exception: your projects go to your own iCloud account, not to the developer, who receives no copy of anything you make.
Your Images
Screenshots and images you import stay on your device and are used only to make framed mockups. They are never sent to the developer or anyone else.
With iCloud sync on, copies are also kept in your iCloud account so your projects appear on your other devices. See iCloud Sync below.
iCloud Sync
With iCloud Drive turned on, Frames keeps your projects in your iCloud account so they stay in step across your devices. This uses Apple’s iCloud service and your own iCloud storage.
Your projects are held in the private area of your iCloud account. The developer receives no copy, and cannot see, read, recover or delete them. Apple’s own privacy policy covers how Apple handles data stored in iCloud.
Video from screen recordings is not included. Because those files are large, they stay on the device that imported them; the rest of the project, including its preview image, syncs as usual.
Because your devices share one library, deleting a project on one device also removes it from the others.
To keep Frames entirely on device, turn off iCloud Drive, or turn Frames off in the iCloud section of Settings. Projects already on your device stay where they are.
A small amount of app state, such as how many free Pro exports you have left, sits in your iCloud account alongside your projects, so it follows you across devices. It stays private to you, and the developer never sees it.
Your Photo Library
Frames normally uses the system photo picker. It runs outside the app and hands over only the image you picked, so Frames never sees the rest of your library, and no permission is needed.
Quick Frame is the exception: finding your newest screenshot means asking the library a question. On iPhone and iPad, Frames requests photo access the first time you use it, and reads only that one screenshot. Decline, and Quick Frame falls back to the picker and reads nothing.
On Mac, Quick Frame reads whichever source you set in Settings: the newest image in a folder you choose (Frames sees only that folder), or the newest screenshot in your photo library, the same way it does on iPhone and iPad.
Frames writes to your photo library only to save an image you asked it to save.
Your Music
On iPhone and iPad, the background picker can use the artwork of whatever you are playing in Music. Frames asks for music access the first time you choose it, and reads one thing: the artwork of the current or most recent item in Music. What you listen to, your library and your playback are never read, stored or sent anywhere.
The artwork becomes part of that project, like any image you import: stored on your device, and with iCloud sync on, synced to your own iCloud account with the rest of the project.
Decline, and the option does nothing and no music information is read. Not available on Mac, where the system provides no way to read it.
Extensions, Shortcuts & the Clipboard
Frames includes a share extension, Shortcuts actions, and Control Center controls. Images handed to any of these are framed on your device and returned to you. Nothing is sent anywhere.
The app reads an image from your clipboard only when you ask it to.
Purchases
Frames Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple processes the payment and handles billing and refunds. Frames never sees your payment details, your name, or your Apple Account, and the developer receives no record of your purchase.
The app stores only the fact that the purchase was made, on the device that made it. That record is not synced to iCloud, which is why Restore Purchases asks Apple rather than one of your other devices. Your free Pro export count is separate and does follow your iCloud account, as described under iCloud Sync.
Analytics & Tracking
Frames does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind.
Children’s Privacy
Frames is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
